It is unknown as to whether this can only target one enemy, or if you can freely aim the Spark Beam. Hold it down for longer before firing to get the maximum amount of missiles ready to fire. They jump in and pick off one target, before escaping any possible retaliatory attacks. Later on I'll gear up Ranger because I feel it'll scale really well and be great for endgame content with high priority damage and muster point. Big boi season: our favourite As the enemy is already primed, you can also detonate them with the Sticky Grenade, which deals the most single-target damage of all the grenades. If you need help grinding towards Mastercraft weapons then check out our.
Check out more Anthem guides below. I was tinkering and testing out different combos of builds. Seeker: The Seeker grenade splits into multiple parts that will hone in on nearby enemies, much like the Seeking Missile. While you have the default pieces that are perfectly good, or if you happen to preorder the game, you may also have the Legion of Dawn set more on that in our guide. You can combine them in a variety of ways to bolster damage and even help protect allies.
Support Abilities The Ranger Javelin can deploy spherical fields which protect or buff allies within. The issue is they're combo passive is just added detonator damage when combo' but they have no means of AoE comboing when they're only AoE primer shares a slot with their only AoE detonator. It also means giving up a slot to a skill that doesnt detonate Ranger's exclusive is bonus detonator damage. This makes Ranger unequivocally the worst Javelin for dealing with anything that has a shield and means you waste endless clips on enemy shields or you give up 1 of your skill slots to pulse blast just to knock down fliers so you can melee spam with a slow as shit animation and a prime effect you can't apply while the shield is up anyway. Stick with the Bulwark until a use for it is found in the higher difficulty settings. But Ranger is just not a good solo Javelin and is really inefficient for general trash clearing the majority of early to mid game content.
Burning Orb Focus Seals Impact Damage An orb that can be fired in short shots or charged for larger projectiles that explode. General's favor: used to get my grenades as fast as possible to get my ult as fast as possible. I have one blast detonator and one impact plus guns so I prefer to spread the bugs out rather than lean into 1 specific type of damage. Muster Point: Spawns a visible field that teammates are supposed to stand inside so gun damage is increased by 20% for everyone. Inferno: Similar to the Frost grenades but instead of freezing them in place, it adds fire damage.
I chuck these things everywhere. To preface, because the Ranger has so many ways to prime targets and its melee doesn't detonate, the Ranger is naturally inclined to run detonating gear, and gear that doesn't detonate gets docked a bit. If you are unable to decide the other three javelin suits, you should opt for Ranger as it offers a little bit of everything and is the best javelin for starters. Like I said, I really want to give Ranger every shot at being my secondary! Seeker Grenades: Destiny players will also be familiar with these. Sticky Grenades when combined with Venom Darts are super effective against heavily armored enemies.
The Grenade Augment is another smart one to include because it simply increases grenade damage, especially if you're rocking the Inferno Grenades. If anything its supposed to be effective versus armor and only because of its insane dps is it good against shields. It launches a missile that tracks a single target and explodes. Cycle between ice and fire primers for unlimited combos. Armor and Shield are a great combo if you tend to take a ton of damage and want to last a little longer out of cover. Those who wield this Javelin have access to the Blast Seal and Focus Seal, which can be augmented with different modifications, so keep cycling through to find the best ones to suit your play style. Use cover and your dodge wisely and often , and you can still deal some decent damage! You can stay an ideal target throughout the fight and keep up with the more agile enemies.
Frag: Very similar to the Sticky, Frag grenades don't latch on to enemies but the blast radius is bigger. The proc does decent damage, but overall a pretty bland effect. I dont die much, but when I do it would have been prevented by having that on demand healing. Keep in contact with your team to time this well. Being this close comes with its disadvantages, one of them being reloading. The Voltatic Dome however does freeze enemies to the spot, so try to get a group of them in one place before raining down explosives to top your health up.
The components listed above will further increase the combat effectiveness of your main gear by both reducing cooldown timers and increasing damage dealt to enemies by grenades. Rangers deal all of there skill dmg though the use of combos which is why they have a hard melee primer so you will always be able to prime a target. Venom Darts are especially powerful. Once that's run out, switch out an assault rifle and make short work of them. We've crafted a guide made to show you what makes the ranger Javelin special and to turn you into a crucial member of your Freelancer squad. I throw gear on with grenade recharge and general's favor. Seeking Missile: Launches a missile that tracks toward a single target and acts as a detonator.
